Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and management of well completion and rig lease operations that meets all of the required outcomes including:

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

communicating clearly and concisely with others to resolve coordination requirements throughout work activities

demonstrates completion of the management of well completion and rig lease operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

developing and monitoring completion schedules in line with drilling contracts and well prognosis

preparing rig for release

coordinating rig move including:

tour book

work orders

invoicing

shutdown list

rigging down and secure ready for removal

interpreting environmental plan and make arrangements for disposal of waste

processing written records and reports


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of the following in Manage well completion and rig release through:

accessing, interpreting and applying the organisation and site requirements and procedures

maintaining company and statutory safety guidelines, procedures and practices

establishing and maintaining safe operating procedures for operating equipment

establishing and maintaining well completion and release procedures

maintaining safe rigging and dogging practices

identifying auxiliary equipment functions and service requirements

knowledge of the specific rig tear-out sequence

complying with road haulage regulations

knowledge and maintenance of safety and environmental issues

using communication equipment

establishing and preparing for emergency procedures

establishing and maintaining preventative maintenance

adhering to workplace relations and award conditions
